North Penn Triathlon Postponed Due To Weather
The forecasted torrential downpours on Saturday have postponed the North Penn IronKnights triathlon for students.

LANSDALE, PA — The forecasted torrential downpours on Saturday have postponed the North Penn IronKnights triathlon for students. The event will now be held on Sunday, May 14, school officials announced.
Participants are to report on Sunday at their previously scheduled time. No schedule changes can be made to any of the event times, organizers said.
1500 elementary students at North Penn are gearing up for the upcoming triathlon at the high school. It's the sixth annual event.

Students from kindergarten through sixth grade will swim, run, and bike for distances measured based on their age. Students in kindergarten through second grade will begin bright and early at 8:00 a.m. swimming 20 yards, biking one mile and running a half-mile. Third and fourth graders will be next to follow at 11:00 a.m., swimming 60 yards, biking three miles and running three-quarters of a mile. Students in grades five and six will wrap up the afternoon at 2:30 p.m.and swim 100 yards, bike five miles and run one mile, the school district said.
The event, organized by physical education teacher Jason Theodore of Montgomery Elementary, aims to promote health, wellness, and hard work in students.

Students have been provided with opportunities to train for the competition, including swimming practices at school.
