A new parking lot is coming to downtown Royersford, thanks to a special $30,000 donation.

ROYERSFORD, PA — A new parking lot is coming to downtown Royersford, thanks to a special $30,000 donation.

Tash Kassam, the owner of the former McKissic's building, made the donation for a new lot on the corner of Third Avenue and Myrtle Street.

The lot will prove invaluable for a growing downtown district that has multiple new development projects and businesses either under construction or in the works.

Officials hope that construction on the lot will begin sometime this spring. An advertisement for contractors to bid on the project has been published.

McKissic's Hardware is one of the buildings downtown that will be redeveloped. Officials have approved a project to bring three as of yet unnamed commercial storefronts to the property, which had been abandoned for 15 years.
