Fairfax, VA- The Independent Educational Consultants Association, (IECA), recently announced Laura Blanche of Huntingdon Valley, PA. has been accepted as a professional member in the association. Professional membership in the association is reserved for only the most capable and experienced Independent Educational Consultants (IECs). It requires an appropriate master’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in college counseling or admissions counseling. In addition, members must have visited a minimum of 50 college campuses in the past three years, meet IECA’s professional standards, and subscribe to its Principles of Good Practice.
Laura Blanche has been an IEC since 2013. Her office is located in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Laura is a graduate of Clemson University, where she earned a Master’s in Education, and George Mason University. She has over 20 years of college counseling experience and has spent the past 18 years working as a Guidance Counselor at Lower Moreland High School and will retire in August. Laura, President of Blanche College Consulting, specializes in college counseling and can assist students and families in grades 9-12 throughout the entire college identification and application process. Laura also has experience guiding prospective student-athletes through the NCAA Eligibility process, as well as assisting students with learning differences navigate the process.
The IECA was founded in 1976 as a nonprofit, professional association of established educational consultants. IECA member educational consultants are professionals who assist students and families with educational decision-making. Their educational backgrounds, specialized training, campus visitations, and professional experience equip them to help students choose schools, colleges, or professional programs that meet their individual needs and goals. Members continually update their knowledge and maintain skills through IECA-sponsored meetings, workshops, webinars, training programs, and information exchanges with colleges, schools, programs and other consultants.
