Overdosing Man In Cardiac Arrest Saved By Police In Bucks Co.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Authorities in Bucks County used Narcan to save an overdosing man in cardiac arrest this week, according to police.

The incident came during Stop Overdoses in Pennsylvania Week, which is Dec. 10 to 14. In connection with awareness week, officials will be giving out overdose reversal medication naloxone (Narcan) for free on Thursday, Dec. 13. (Details below)

On Tuesday, Dec. 11, Warrington officers were called to a residence for a report of a 23-year-old man in cardiac arrest after allegedly using heroin, police said. When officers arrived, they found the victim's friend performing CPR.

Police gave him Narcan and after a few minutes, he began to respond, according to authorities. He eventually walked out to the ambulance, police said.

There are 71 locations participating statewide, including three in Bucks County.

From 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. that day, you can get free naloxone at the following locations:

  • Southern Bucks Recovery Community Center, 1286 Veterans Highway, Bristol
  • Bucks County Drug & Alcohol Commission, Inc., 600 Louis Drive, Warminster
  • Quakertown Branch of the Bucks County Free Library, 401 W. Mill St. Quakertown
