Bear Sighting Reported Behind Chandler Ball Fields: Police

A bear sighting near the Chandler Ball Fields has been reported to police.

Newtown Township police report they received a report Thursday of a bear sighting in the area of the creek behind Chandler Ball Fields.

"Officers responded, but could not confirm the sighting at this time," police said.

The fields are located off South Sycamore Street.

This is not the first bear sighting in the area.

There have been bear sightings recently in Wrightstown, where a bear was hit and killed by a car. Also sightings have been reported at Peace Valley Park, in Plumstead Township and in Bensalem, among others.
