Code Blue Declared In Bucks Co. As Bitter Temps Loom
Bucks County has issued its first Code Blue declaration of the season, ahead of predicted bitter temperatures and possible snow.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Bucks County has issued its first Code Blue declaration of the season, ahead of predicted bitter temperatures expected overnight and through the weekend.
The Code Blue declaration is effective from 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 through 7 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. During the Code Clue, overnight shelters will be open in Lower, Central and Upper Bucks County for those in need of housing.
The available Code Blue shelters for this time period are:

- Lower Bucks: Woodside Church, 1667 Edgewood Road, Morrisville
- Central Bucks: Trinity Episcopal Church, 2631 Durham Road (Route 413), Buckingham
- Upper Bucks: Quakertown Masonic Lodge, 501 West Broad Street, Quakertown
The National Weather Service is predicting a stretch of cold weather from Thursday to Tuesday, with overnight lows dipping into the teens at some points. A chance of snow is predicted for Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Emergency Management has notified the above shelters of the Code Blue declaration. On-call volunteers from each location will coordinate transportation, temporary shelter, food and other necessities. Local public safety departments also have been alerted.

All county residents are urged to monitor their pets and any neighbors who are elderly or have special needs during times of extreme weather.
