NEWTOWN, PA —Sworl Handcrafted Rolled Ice Cream is reopening for the season this weekend and to celebrate, it will be dishing out free ice cream.

Sworl, located at 10 S. State Street, will be hosting a reopening "taste and create" event on March 23 from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. During that time, customers can create their own favorite combinations of rolled ice cream for free, according to an event announcement.

Plus, you can share the joy of your favorite flavor: Submit your personal favorite combination to a voting list and it could be chosen as a flavor of the month.

Sworl first opened last summer in the white stand-alone building across the parking lot from Isaac Newton's.

Rolled ice cream is a relatively new phenomenon in the United States, but is popular in Thailand. In a January 2018 report, CBS News called it "the hot new dessert."
