UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — The Travis Manion Foundation is bringing The Honor Project back to Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Memorial Day as it honors the sacrifices of America's fallen military heroes.

The foundation, one of the leading veteran service organizations in the country, is expanding The Honor Project initiative to 60 cemeteries nationwide this year.

Throughout the Memorial Day Weekend, 3,000 volunteers will visit over 10,000 of the nation’s fallen heroes, standing in for families and friends unable to visit their loved ones.

Since its inception in 2021, The Honor Project has encouraged families of fallen service members and battle buddies to request a personal visit to their fallen hero.

Locally on Memorial Day, TMF volunteers at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Bucks County will personally visit and place hand-crafted commemorative tokens at the resting places of fallen heroes, paying their respects and pausing to reflect on the sacrifices of those service members.

For the fourth consecutive year, leading Philadelphia-based online tire retailer SimpleTire is donating $5,000 to TMF to support volunteers participating in The Honor Project at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

“It’s our duty and obligation to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s fallen heroes. These men and women gave their lives for a higher calling: to preserve America’s freedom and to serve a purpose greater than themselves. As a nation, it’s our responsibility to preserve their legacies, learn their stories, and say their names,” said Ryan Manion, CEO, Travis Manion Foundation. “We’re grateful for the dedicated TMF volunteers in Bucks County who will honor our heroes on Memorial Day.”

On-site volunteer registration will be available at Washington Crossing National Cemetery beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, May 26.
