Near-Record Warmth, Thunderstorms Possible This Week In Pennsylvania

This week's weather forecast includes spring-like temperatures and even a chance of thunderstorms.

You may have had to remind yourself several times this weekend what month it was, after a few days of warm, sunny and generally beautiful weather came as a pleasant surprise in the middle of winter.

The spring-like weather will continue throughout the week, culminating in near-record temperatures Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, the high temperature on Thursday should be around 74 degrees. The record temperature for Feb. 23 is 75 degrees, set in 1874.

Highs will be bit cooler earlier in the week but still pleasant. A high temperature in the 50s is expected on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a high in the mid-60s is expected.

Even after Thursday's predicted warmth, temperatures in the 60s are expected to linger through Saturday, when thunderstorms are possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. South wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 65. Southwest wind 3 to 5 mph.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46.

Friday: A chance of showers after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Friday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
