Newtown Food Drive To Help Restock Wrightstown Cupboard

Members of the Newtown Rotary will be at McCaffrey's Market in Newtown on Saturday, Oct. 5 collecting nonperishable donations of food.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Members of the Newtown Rotary Club will be at McCaffrey’s Market in Newtown on Saturday, October 5 collecting food for the less fortunate.

The Rotarians will be at the store from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. accepting donations of non-perishable food items including cereal, crackers, oatmeal, canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, soup,
applesauce, canned meats, and more.

The donations collected on Saturday will be distributed to the needy through the Wrightstown Food Cupboard, which is a joint mission of Anchor Presbyterian, All Saints Episcopal, Penns Park United Methodist, St. Mark’s Orthodox Church and Wrightstown Friends Meeting.

To thank shoppers for their donations, the Rotarians will be handing out 500 reusable grocery bags while supplies last.

If you can't make it to Saturday's food drive, the members of the Newtown Presbyterian Church will be holding another food drive at the store on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Donations collected during the church food drive will be distributed to the needy through the Penndel Food Pantry.
