The joint Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program team from Newtown Township, Newtown Borough, and Upper Makefield issued dozens of warnings and citations, emphasizing ongoing efforts to keep Newtown's roads safer.

• Police Announce Street Closure, Parking Restrictions For Newtown Theatre Event (patch.com) — Drivers and residents in Newtown Borough should prepare for temporary parking bans and street closures around the Newtown Theatre for the annual Black-And-White Dinner on Sunday, September 6. North State Street near the theater will be closed to most traffic starting at 1 p.m., with no parking allowed on either side in front of the venue.
