Severe Storms Headed To Eastern PA, Thunderstorm Watch Issued

Another round of storms is headed our way. Here's what to expect:

A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for five Philadelphia-area counties, including Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Philadelphia. The watch began at 2 p.m. and goes through 10 p.m.

Thunderstorms are most likely after 3 p.m. and could continue through the night. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain, the NWS said.

Accuweather forecasters say there is the potential for severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.

"The landscape is primed for flooding," information from Accuweather said. This added heavy rainfall could trigger urban and small stream flooding through Thursday. "Rises on the secondary rivers in the region are likely. These include some of the tributaries of the Ohio, Potomac, Susquehanna and Delaware rivers," Accuweather said.

The National Weather Service on Sunday issued hazardous weather outlook for the entire region, saying there's a chance of severe storms throughout the week.

The unsettled pattern will continue in the coming days; there is a chance of thunderstorms throughout the day and evening on both Wednesday and Thursday.
