8 Charged In Post Super Bowl Win Incidents: Philadelphia Police
Police already announced the arrest of a man who allegedly flipped an SUV. And now they announced seven other arrests from the celebrations.

PHILADELPHIA – As of Thursday morning, the number of people arrested for post-Super Bowl win crimes is eight, Philadelphia Police said.
Police already reported the arrest of John Rigsby, 20, of Malvern for allegedly helping others flip an SUV Sunday night.
But now they announced seven other arrests in connection with incidents that occurred late Sunday into early Monday following the Eagles' win.

Some incidents tied to Sunday and Monday's events remain unresolved, however. See below for details on those crimes for which police are asking the public's help in solving.
A pair of Bucks County men were arrested and charged with institutional vandalism and criminal mischief after University of Pennsylvania Police saw Robert Ehlers, 39, of Morrisville, and Brendon Anthony Lopez, 24, of Bristol, allegedly spray painting the wall of a loading dock at 36th and Chestnut streets, police said.

Police said the two also vandalized other UPenn locations, including the law school, a parking kiosk, and other walls.


Malcom Cox, 28, of Philadelphia, was arrested for aggravated assault, simple assault, and other offenses after allegedly throwing a bottle at a police vehicle at about 10:53 p.m. Sunday night on the 1400 block of Morris Street, police said.
Cox is accused of throwing the bottle at the car then fleeing the area, police said. After a short chase, Cox was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Mark Thomason, 28, of Philadelphia, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and other offenses in connection with an incident that occurred at about 2:10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 at 200 S. 15th Street, police said.
A photographer was covering the celebrations when Thopmson tried talking to the photographer, who reportedly told Thompson he couldn't talk as he was working, police said.
Thompson is accused of then becoming angry and agitated the photographer, police said.
While trying to shoot photos, Thompson allegedly smashed the camera into the photographer's face then punched him about six times in the face, police said.
The photographer suffered scrapes, cuts, bruises, and swelling from the attack, police said.

Rubin Garrido, 28, of Philadelphia, was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and related offenses after allegedly hitting a fellow celebrator with his belt and belt buckle, police said.
Garrido and another person were celebrating when he allegedly took off his belt and buckle then struck the other person in the back of their head with the belt, causing a cut, at about 1:25 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5, police said.

Alexander Mawescu, 26, of Philadelphia, was charged with disorderly conduct after allegedly banging on police shields then bull rushing the police line after being ordered by police to stop at 100 N. Broad St. at about 1:30 a.m Monday, Feb. 5, authorities said.

Veasna Sary, 24, of Philadelphia, was charged with criminal mischief and propulsion of a missile after allegedly throwing a bottle at an unmarked police car at about 1:20 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 on the 1200 block of South Broad Street.
Sary is accused of throwing a bottle at the vehicle, which caused the window to be scratched and chipped, police said.
He was taken into custody immediately and taken to a hospital for injuries he suffered in a fight earlier in the evening.

While police have arrested these individuals, they still are asking for the public's help identifying others suspected of committing crimes following the Eagle's Super Bowl win.
Police are still looking for those who broke a window at the Center City Macy's, the people who looted and vandalized a Sunoco, two men suspected of breaking an AC Moore Arts and Crafts store window, and three men who broke into the Walnut Street Timberland store and stole thousands in merchandise.
