Dilworth Park Shooting Suspect Taken Into Custody By US Marshals

PHILADELPHIA — Federal authorities Thursday took a teenager wanted in connection with the shooting of three other teens near Center City Philadelphia's Christmas village and ice rink into custody.

The U.S. Marshals Service said Raheem Hylton, 16, was taken into custody at 8 p.m. on the 1200 block of Foulkrod Street.

Authorities said Hylton was found at a known associate's residence after investigators from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force received an anonymous tip.

Hylton was wanted on aggravated assault charges for the shooting that occurred at 4:33 p.m. Dec. 13 in Dilworth Park, near the Christmas village and ice rink.

The incident left one boy, 14, in critical condition after being shot in the eye. Two other boys, 14 and 15, were injured in the shooting.

At a news conference Wednesday, police said the shooting stemmed from an instance of bullying.

One of the suspects was mocking the younger brother of the teen who is critical, police said. That led to an argument, which escalated to the shooting, according to authorities.
