Former Ryan's Pub To Become A Dive Bar & Grille
After being empty for nearly two years, the legendary Regent Square site finally will reopen under new ownership.

PITTSBURGH, PA - The landmark Ryan's Pub in Regent Square closed nearly two years ago. A successor establishment on the South Braddock Avenue was placed on the market after never opening. Now, the space finally will reopen this summer as the Pittsburgh area's fourth Dive Bar & Grille location.
The move was announced on the Dive Bar & Grille Facebook page.
Ryan's opened in 1971 and closed in July 2017 after being purchased by Pittsburgh restaurateur Adnan Pehlivan, who extensively renovated the bar and was about to reopen it as Hilton's Lounge when he was charged with rape. After a mistrial was declared in March, Pehlivan is awaiting a new trial on the sexual assault accusations.

Pehlivan's legal woes forced him to sell the restaurant he owned next to Ryan's, Istanbul Sofra, and place the never-opened Hilton's Lounge on the market. Istanbul Sofra since has reopened under new ownership as Sahara.
Dive Bar & Grille's other locations are in Lawrenceville, the South Side and Wexford. The Pittsburgh Business Times first reported the impending Regent Square location.
