Arrest Made In Deadly Roxborough High School Shooting: DA

Authorities took a 21-year-old man into custody on murder, aggravated assault, and related charges in connection with the deadly incident.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA — Authorities in Philadelphia have made an arrest in connection with the deadly shooting outside Roxborough High School in late September.

Police took Yaaseen Bivins, 21, into custody on murder, four counts of aggravated assault, and related charges, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office said.

Bivins is accused of being involved in the shooting death of 14-year-old Nicolas Elizalde, of Havertown, and the shooting injuries of four other teenagers on Sept. 27 outside the school when a football scrimmage ended.

Court records for Bivins regarding this case were not immediately available.

Authorities are still looking for others involved in the shooting, including 16-year-old Dayron Burney-Thorn, who remains at large and is wanted on murder and related charges.
