Ages 11-15

Through a close investigation of the work of modern masters, we will explore how materials and techniques are manipulated to enable the imagination to soar and create stunning works of art of our own: an altered portrait in acrylic inspired by the Cubist method of Picasso, a graphite drawing in the manner of Salvadore Dali’s Surrealist fantasies, a pastel drawing that emulates the color practices of Van Gogh, a colored pencil drawing that is inspired by O’Keefe’s ability to concentrate on the intricacies of an object, and finally, a three-dimensional work using natural elements following the lead of Andy Goldsworthy’s manipulations of natural forms. Materials fee is included in the tuition.
