A Pottstown man died while swimming at the Jersey Shore Sunday night, according to police in New Jersey. The incident occurred in Avon-by-the-Sea at around 6:34 p.m., in Monmouth County. The victim, a 55-year-old man, was not identified beyond his age and hometown. (Read More)
2 Bucks Co. Men Tried To Steal Home From Dead Man's Family: Feds
Two Bucks County men and a Montgomery County man were convicted Friday for their actions linked to multiple fraud schemes, including one that involved trying to steal a house from a dead man’s family, federal authorities said. MTV Star To Remain Jailed In PA, Judge Rules
Former "Jackass" star Bam Margera must remain in Chester County Prison after a violation of his probation, a judge ruled after an appearance in court Monday morning. Margera must complete an drug and alcohol evaluation before any further ruling can be made, according to reports. SEPTA Reinstates Parking Fees At Philly Region Stations
After four years of offering free parking to help attract customers back to the system, SEPTA has reinstated parking fees on Monday. In June, the SEPTA Board awarded a $12.3 million contract to Flowbird America Inc. to develop a new, state-of-the-art parking system that will streamline fee collection and improve customer convenience. Daily parking rates at SEPTA-owned surface lots will increase to $2 from $1 and to $4 from $2 at the three garages: Frankford Transportation Center, Norristown, and Lansdale. (Read More)
Suspected Drunk Driver Tries To Run Over Homeowner In Newtown: Police
Police have charged a driver with recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence, and endangering the welfare of a child following an incident on Wrights Road on Sept. 18. At about 9:30 p.m., Newtown Township Police responded to Wrights Road for the report of a motorist who had driven onto someone's property while intoxicated and then tried to run over the homeowner.
