Warminster Adds 2nd Of 4 New Police Officers
Corey Farrell joins the Warminster force after spending 13 years with the Philadelphia Police Department.

WARMINSTER, PA —The Warminster Township Police Department has added the second of four proposed new police officers to its ranks.
At its recent meeting, Warminster Township Supervisors welcomed new police officer Corey Farrell to the force before family and friends.
"It's a dream come true," Farrell told Patch before his swearing-in ceremony. "It's not even a mile from my house."

The commute may be an easier one for the 34-year-old Farrell, who spent 13 years working for the Philadelphia Police Department, and an opportunity to spend more time with his wife Joan and four daughters, who are ages 12, 7, 4, and 11 months.
In early February, the police department hired Morgan Hein, 24, a quadruplet from Sinking Springs who graduated from Penn State University and the Montgomery County Police Academy.

She was the first addition announced after supervisors said in late December that four police officers would be hired after unanimously ratifying a new five-year agreement with the Warminster Police Benevolent Association.
With Magisterial Judge Daniel J. Finello Jr. presiding, Farrell took the oath of office after Police Chief James Donnelly presented supervisors with Farrell's background.
Donnelly said that Farrell worked in the 19th, 39th, and 2nd precincts for the Philadelphia Police Department and that he was a graduate of North Catholic High School.
The chief said that Farrell is actively involved with the Nativity of Our Lords parish, where he serves as a coach of the junior varsity basketball and softball teams.
He was also graduating Penn State University with a degree in criminal justice at the time of his appointment.
Donnelly said two more police officers will be hired to fill the ranks in the near future.
"I feel like we're getting there," the chief told Patch before the ceremony."
He said he was meeting with another candidate and was two-thirds through the process with the officer expected to head into the police academy on July 3.
"We still have two more to go," Supervisors Chairman Kenneth Hayes said.
