Barry Baker's Trial Delayed

Barry Baker's trial for simple assault and flight to avoid apprehension was slated to begin on Monday, but has been delayed.

WEST CHESTER, PA — The trial for Barry Baker, the man who police say sucker-punched a man with cerebral palsy in West Chester in May before going on the run from police, has been delayed, court documents state.

The criminal trial for Baker, 29, of Georgetown, Delaware, who faces charges of simple assault and flight to avoid apprehension, will begin in two weeks, officials said. The trial had been scheduled to begin Monday.

Baker's story spread like wildfire across social media after police published surveillance video which showed him mocking and then sucker-punching a disabled man in front of a West Chester 7-11 in May.
