3 Candidates To Interview For Vacant Yardley Council Seat
Yardley Borough Council is expected to interview the candidates and name a replacement for Councilman John McCann at its meeting Tuesday.

YARDLEY, PA —Three candidates have emerged to replace Councilman John McCann, who resigned last month after announcing that he was moving to Lower Makefield Township.
Borough Manager Paula Johnson told Patch Friday that she received applications from three candidates who meet Monday's filing deadline. She did not provide the names of the candidates, saying they would be released at another time.
One of the candidates, though is expected to be Michelle Sharer, president of the Friends of Lake Afton, who told Patch that she applied for the position.

The Democrat is also running for election in November as part of a slate in which all seven council seats are up for election, a first for the borough.
The Borough Council, as its usual procedure for replacing a council member, will interview the three candidates and then nominate and vote on a replacement.

McCann was the fourth council member to leavethe seven-member board since September.
McCann said during his four years on the board that the borough made "considerable progress" on important public works projects while increasing transparency, addressing citizen concerns, improving the budget process, enhancing the business climate, growing community events, and better funding the police department.
In early January, two-term Councilman Uri Feiner was appointed to replace Councilman Matt Ross, who had also moved to Lower Makefield Township.
In early September, Councilmen David Appelbaum and Don Carlson filled the vacancies of David Bria and Chris Campellone, who resigned because they were moving out of town.
