Lanes Closed At 3 Lower Makefield Intersections Next Week

The closures for construction that's part of a state plan to make curbs at intersections safer and more accessible.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Lane closures at several Bucks County intersections, including three in Lower Makefield, are planned next week to install curb ramps.

Earlier this year, Gov. Tom Wolf's office announced plans to install 73 Americans With Disabilities act-compliant curb ramps at 18 intersections in Bucks County.

Lanes will be closed from on Wednesday, Jan. 2, through Friday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the three Lower Makefield intersections. They are:

  • Mirror Lake Road and Yardley Langhorne Road
  • Stony Hill Road and Cardinal Drive
  • Big Oak Road and Makefield Road

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because there will be slowdowns.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in early 2019. In that time, five intersections in Yardley are scheduled to be upgraded, though no construction dates have yet been set. They are:

  • Main Street and Afton Avenue
  • Main Street and Letchworth Avenue
  • Main Street and Reading Avenue
  • Route 32 (Delaware Avenue) and Letchworth Avenue
  • Route 32 (Delaware Avenue) and College Avenue
