Florida Man Charged In Rhode Island With Intending To Distribute 14 Pounds of Meth: Feds
The Florida man was transporting the 14 pounds of methamphetamine in a rental vehicle, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
PROVIDENCE, RI — A Florida man was charged in Rhode Island with intending to distribute 14 pounds of methamphetamine.
Andrew Urbano Perez, 34, was indicted by a federal grand jury, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a media release.
In December 2024, Urbano Perez was driving a rental vehicle with Florida license plates that was stopped by a Warwick police officer assigned to a Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, according to the release.

A police dog alerted to the presence of narcotics, the release said, and a search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 14 pounds of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside the vehicle.
