Cranston Man Jailed On Assault Charge: Police

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston man was jailed on an assault charge, police said.

Maliki Chester, 21, was arrested Thursday by the Rhode Island State Police Adult Correctional Institutions Investigations Unit, the state police said in a media release.

"Mr. Chester was arraigned in Third Division District Court, where he was presented as a District Court violator, granted $1,000 surety bail and remanded to the ACI," the release said.
