Wanted Providence Man Captured: Cops

The Providence man was wanted on charges of forgery and counterfeiting, and other charges, police said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — A wanted Providence man was captured, police said.

Luis Acevedo Lopez, 22, was arrested about 10 a.m. Thursday, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Acevedo Lopez was wanted on charges of forgery and counterfeiting, and obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses, and fraudulent checks, the release said.

Acevedo Lopez was arrested by troopers conducting a warrant check at his Clarence Street home, according to the release.

Acevedo Lopez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and taken to Third Division District Court for an arraignment, the release said.
