Coronavirus: East Providence Offers Pick-Up-And-Go Student Meals
East Providence Schools will offer pick-up meals for students while schools are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — East Providence has announced pick-up-and-go sites for meals for East Providence Public Schools students while they are closed for the next week due to the coronavirus pandemic. Meals will be available daily to students 18 years old or younger.
Meals will be available at the production site of East Providence High School in the student parking lot from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
There will also be two food trucks with Truck #1 delivering at Carousel on Bullocks Point Avenue in Riverside from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the Pierce Field Stadium Entrance on Mercer Street in East Providence from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. Truck #2 will deliver to the Evergreen Apartments Entrance on Evergreen Drive from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and Freedom Green Park on North Broadway in Rumford from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m.

East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva's office announced on Friday an executive order to close the city's three libraries and senior center. The order came on the same day that Gov. Gina Raimondo announced a statewide order to close all Rhode Island Public Schools for one week while a determination is made about potential online learning if classes cannot resume on March 23. The directive said gatherings of more than 100 people are discouraged.
