Drinking Leads to Multiple Weekend Arrests

A busy weekend for Middletown police conducting routine traffic patrols around town resulted in several arrests, mostly related to drunk driving and underage drinking. Middletown police on Monday reported the following recent arrests:

• Middletown police arrested Humbero D. Lopez, 46, of 39 Annandale Rd., Newport, on Aug. 23, 2010 around 1:30 am Monday after his car allegedly hit a construction sign and he fled the scene, according to police reports. Police reported they stopped his car near the intersection of West Main Road and Vanicek Avenue, and charged him with allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, a first offense misdemeanor, as well as refusal to submit to a chemical test. A preliminary breath test measuring blood-alcohol content registered .186, police reported.

• On Aug. 22, 2010 around 9:30 am, Jennine McKinney-Lombardo, 41, of 90 Girard Ave, Newport, was arrested and charged with larceny under $500, a misdemeanor, for allegedly taking a donation canister containing $66.09 from the Newport Mart at 52 East Main Road. Police alleged they later picked up McKinney-Lombardo on Maple Avenue with the stolen canister on her.

• On Aug. 21, 2010, around 11:45 pm, Ruth Henderson, 59, 97 West View Road, Middletown, was cited in violation of the town's Social Host Ordinance, according to reports, after police responded to complaints of a loud party at her home and found an estimated 25 youths leaving the scene. Henderson was ordered to appear before Municipal Court Aug. 31, 2010 to answer the charges. Police also cited three area young adults for alleged underage drinking and ordered them to appear before Municipal Court on Aug. 31, 2010 to answer the charges: Andrew Ponte, 18, of 10 Maloney Lane, Middletown, Taylor Henderson, 18, of 97 West View Road, Middletown, and Chelsea Vorro, 18, of 516 Corey Lane, Middletown.

• Hector O. Colon, 30, of 7 Beechwood Ct., Warren, was arrested Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, around 3:45 am, for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, reportedly his first offense, reckless driving, and refusing to submit to a chemical test, all misdemeanors. Police on patrol on West Main Road near Oliphant Lane reportedly observed Colon's car drift over the road's center line before stopping his car and conducting field tests at the scene. Police reported that a preliminary breath test registered .095 for a blood-alcohol level.

• Police arrested Kyle P. Bruneau, 19, of 74 Chestnut Hill Road, Middletown, on Aug. 20, 2010 around 6 pm on an outstanding court warrant from the 2^nd District Court after he turned himself in at Middletown Police Headquarters for failing to appear at court to pay a $2,195 surety bond, according to the arrest record.

• On Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, around 3:22 am, Geoffrey V. Golomb, 23, of 9 John St., Barrington, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, reportedly his first offense, and was also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test and disobedience to a police officer, all misdemeanors. According to police reports, traffic officers in a work zone on West Main Road reported that Golomb's car did not slow down when ordered. When police caught up to Golomb at the nearby Shell Station at 1149 West Main Road, they arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol after observing his behavior and conducting field tests at the scene. Police also reported that Golomb allegedly refused to cooperate when taking a preliminary breath test and also refused to later take a chemical test at the police station.

• Police arrested Dean Domingoes, 19, of 51 Ferreira Terrace, Portsmouth, on Aug. 19, 2010 around 11:30 pm on an outstanding arrest warrant issued from the 6^th District Court for failing to appear to answer a suspended license charge, police reported.
