Local Woman Arrested for Assault, Violating No Contact Order

Middletown police on Thursday reported the arrest of a 32-year-old Middletown woman, Meredith A. Klassner, for allegedly violating a no-contact order and simple assault at a seasonal cottage rental compound.

Police arrested Klassner on the two misdemeanor charges Wednesday night around 7:51 pm at the Sand Piper Cottages on East Main Road after responding to an emergency call about a disturbance there, according to arrest reports. Investigators at the scene described the victim as a 45-year old male and Middletown resident, who alleged that Klassner threw a glass bottle at his head and that a cell phone was broken during the argument.
