Multiple Arrests Follow Weekend Brawls

Middletown police reported the following recent incidents and arrests:

• A 14-year-old Middletown resident was charged with assault and resisting arrest Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 around 8:36 pm after Middletown police responded to 251 Rogers Lane for reports of an alleged fight between two female minors, according to police reports. Following alleged physical attacks and verbal threats against the arresting officers, a Family Court order was issued for the suspect to be held until an arraignment Tuesday in Providence Family Court.

• Three Middletown men were arrested early Sunday morning around 1 am after police reportedly responded to 32 James Francis Terrace for an alleged fight in progress. Misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct were brought against Ryan Mendonca, 19, Gordon Wallace, 18, and Phillip M. Ventura, 18. Investigators reported the alleged dispute occurred between Wallace and Ventura over an ex-girlfriend 19-year old Middletown woman also present during the incident.
