Projo.com: Child & Family of Middletown Staff Cited for Neglect at Johnston Group Home

The "institutional neglect" charges stem from an incident last month during a heat wave when staffers allegedly confined teen boys to a poorly ventilated common room for nearly five hours.

Projo.com has reported that staffers at a Johnston Group home run by Child & Family of Middletown have been cited by the state for "institutional neglect" of teenage boys stemming from an incident last month during a heat wave when staffers allegedly confined the youths to a poorly ventilated common room for nearly five hours while a manager questioned them about stolen clothing.

The Johnston facility, which houses teenage boys with behavioral problems, is owned and operated by Community Solutions Inc, a Connecticut-based nonprofit group that contracts with Child & Family of Middletown to run the Johnston group home, according to reports.
