Three Portsmouth Residents Charged with DUI, Disorderly Conduct at Early Morning Traffic Stop

Three Portsmouth residents were arrested Wednesday morning around 2 am on disorderly conduct and drinking and driving allegations after police reportedly followed a speeding car that made an abrupt turnout into an empty parking lot near 797 Aquidneck Avenue.

After questioning the driver and conducting field tests, police at the scene arrested Jessica Asher, 23, of Portsmouth, on a misdemeanor first offense charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and also cited her for allegedly refusing to submit to a later chemical test at the police station. At the scene, Asher allegedly blew a .169 on an alcohol-breath test, according to police reports. Asher was ordered to appear in court Aug. 25, 2010.

Police at the scene also arrested passengers Brandon E. Bateman, 22, and Stephanie L. Roderigues, 26, both Portsmouth residents, for disorderly conduct after allegedly arguing and being uncooperative to officers at scene while field tests of the driver were being conducted.
