Narragansett Police Log: Party On
The following is based on reports form the Narragansett Police department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The Narragansett Police Department made the following arrests:
William H. Minty and Karen Minty, of 42 Prospect Ave., Narragansett, were charged on May 19 with violating the Social Host law after allegedly hosting a party at which high school students were drinking.
Officers were called to 42 Prospect Ave. for a report of a loud party. The found about 20 Narragansett High School students celebrating their junior prom in the backyard. Officers asked Karen Minty, who live at the home, to keep the noise down and said there would be no problem as long as alcohol isn’t being served to the teens. Karen Minty, however, refused to answer whether there was alcohol at the underage party, according to reports, prompting officers to search the property.

After reportedly finding more beer cans scattered on the ground, officers asked the students to turn in all the alcohol in the yard. They complied and reportedly filled a garbage bag with bottles of vodka and cans of beer that were located in tents scattered throughout the yard.
The students’ parents were contacted and the Mintys were each issued citations carrying $200 fines.
