NARRAGANSETT, RI — Narragansett school officials are looking for a construction firm to renovate the high school auditorium.

School officials said the project went out to bid Tuesday and will aim to create a modern, multi-purpose space that will be more useable for the district.

According to school officials, a significant portion of the renovation consist of replacing the HVAC system and a complete electrical overhaul of the facility. School officials said the new electrical system will provide improved lighting and sound control, while the new mechanical system will provide easier operation, less maintenance and be more energy efficient.

Other upgrades Narragansett Public Schools is looking for include replacing the stage floor, building a new ceiling, upgrades to the seating area, replacing the handicapped lift with a ramp and redesigning the auditorium's acoustics.
