One Day Later, Easton's Beach Reopened To Swimming
One of eight closed beaches has been reopened to swimmers.

NEWPORT, RI — Just one day after it was closed to swimming by the Rhode Island Department of Health, Easton's Beach has been declared safe to reopen. The Newport beach was one of eight closed on Wednesday.
The eight beaches all had high levels of bacteria in the water, making them unsafe for swimming. The sudden increase in closures is likely due to two days of heavy rain earlier this week, which carried bacteria-laced runoff into the water. Most high bacteria counts return to safe levels within three to four days.

- Barrington Town Beach
- Saunderstown Yacht Club
- Camp Grosvenor, Saunderstown
- Bonnet Shores, Narragansett
Scarborough Beach North was not affected by the closure.
