• North Kingstown High Tennis Courts Sent to Capital Review (upriseri.com) — North Kingstown officials are weighing a $500,000 to $1 million overhaul of the high school tennis courts after three of six became unusable, forcing teams to play in Jamestown. The Budget and Finance Advisory Committee voted to send the project into the town's FY27 capital process, meaning the courts must now compete with other big-ticket needs before any funding is approved.

• Residents Urge Limits on Pet Store Animal Sales in Richmond (upriseri.com) — North Kingstown residents are urging Richmond officials to restrict pet store sales of dogs, cats, and birds, citing problems they say their own town is facing after a puppy-selling shop opened there. They described efforts to pass a North Kingstown ordinance banning such sales and warned Richmond not to be caught off guard. Richmond's council has not yet proposed or scheduled any ordinance, but written comments are being accepted.

• Washington County saw lowest price for regular gas at $4.19 in week ending Oct. 3 (southcotimes.com) — Drivers in Washington County saw regular gas as low as $4.19 per gallon during the week ending Oct. 3, with an overall county average of $4.42. In North Kingstown, reported prices were among the lower end of the range, giving local commuters a small break compared with many neighboring communities and the statewide average of $4.33.
