Providence releases first Opioid Settlement Fund Annual Report detailing $1.2 million in initiatives (browndailyherald.com) — Providence has released its first annual report on how it used more than $1.2 million in opioid settlement funds during 2025, detailing training, housing support, and services that reached over 3,000 residents. City and public health leaders highlight sharp recent declines in overdose deaths, while stressing that Providence still has one of Rhode Island's highest fatal overdose rates. The report also notes the state-sanctioned Providence Overdose Prevention Center's growing role.
   

4. HUSTLE Providence Entrepreneur Networking (events.com) — Entrepreneurs in Providence can plug into a free monthly networking night at The XO Bar on North Main Street, designed to connect founders, freelancers, and investors. Held the second Tuesday of each month from 5 p.m., the event promises structured mingling, an expectation to buy a drink, and a chance to find collaborators or clients within walking distance of downtown transit and parking.
   

5. Allegiant Expands Service at Orlando-Sanford International Airport with Three New Nonstop Destinations (mysanfordherald.com) — Starting February 13, 2027, Allegiant will add nonstop flights between Orlando-Sanford International Airport and Providence, giving local travelers another low-cost option to reach Central Florida. The airline is also launching new routes to Boston and Grand Forks as part of a broader expansion at the Florida airport. These additions could make it easier for Providence families to plan winter getaways.
