Providence Picks Up More Snow This Season Than Anchorage, Alaska: AccuWeather
Providence was socked with more than 5 and a half feet of snow this season, according to AccuWeather.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Providence has outdone Anchorage, Alaska, when it comes to snow this season.
Providence has picked up 67.8 inches of snow this season, according to AccuWeather, beating Alaska's most populous municipality by 2.2 inches, according to AccuWeather.

The amount of snow dropped on Providence Monday and Tuesday smashed a 48-year-old record, according to the National Weather Service. The 37.9 inches earlier this week bested the previous high of 28.6 inches, set on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, 1978.

Providence's Anchorage-beating total may even increase, as there is a chance of even more snow falling on Rhode Island Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
