REX RICE IS THE ONLY CHOICE for SC District 2 Senate. Here is why:

OK Pickens County, what about Larry Martin?  You have seen his ads on TV talking about his accessibility.  The only reason anyone but his friends can get him to answer the phone right now is because he is FORCED TO CAMPAIGN for the first time in 20 YEARS.  Lets rewind just a short time.  Just during this past year during the legislative session, he refused to return at least SIX communication attempts from me asking about just ONE issue.

This is only one issue and I am using it as an example because I am very familiar with it.

Here is the history:  Last year, I helped write and get passed in the SC House, a Grandparents Rights Bill.  The bill number is H4717 and anyone can look it up.  I will even provide a link to the SC Legislature website showing that bill.  It PASSED THE HOUSE UNANIMOUSLY and was sent to the Senate with PLENTY of time to get to the floor for a vote, except for ONE little roadblock.  The Senate Judiciary Committee.  THAT is the powerful committee Mr. Martin is talking about in his ad.  Martin is the committee chairman, and so has the power to schedule literally everything that goes through the Judiciary.   LARRY MARTIN REFUSED TO HOLD A HEARING ON H4717.  I called him or his office at least SIX times in an effort to find out what the delay was, and was told "we will let you know when it is on the schedule".  Of course, it NEVER got on the schedule.  The LAST time I called, the person who answered the phone finally said "we just didn't have time to schedule it".  Well of course you didn't have time after you delayed long enough.

During that time Martin started a Facebook page, and guess what he FRIENDED me!  so I asked him THIS simple question ON HIS page: 

"Sen. Martin, why did you let H4717 die in your committee by not holding hearings so it could go to the floor for a vote?"

Guess what his response was.  He BLOCKED me!  THAT was his response to a question he did not want to answer!  I was not attacking him, I was not offensive in any way. All I did was ask the simple question you see here.  That was before he had serious competition for his Senate seat.  NOW he answers calls because he claims to be "accessible".

His actions on this one small issue speak volumes about Larry Martin.

FIRST he is a LIAR when he claims accessibility.  Larry, you can't be accessible only when you have to be and still call yourself accessible.

SECOND his refusal to allow H4717 to go to the Senate floor for a vote tells me he is ANTI FAMILY RIGHTS.  Why?  Because H4717 would have done ONE simple thing.  It would have given GRANDPARENTS standing in Family Court.  Nothing more.  The bill was even SUPPORTED by DSS and I was told the Governor would have signed it if it had made it to her desk.

The Grandparents Rights Bill was THE most important thing to me personally last year, but the way our SO CALLED Senator conducted himself on this issue tells us all a LOT about how he conducts himself on just about everything.

Just for the record, anyone who wants to say this issue is just not all that important should suffer the loss of a grandchild to the system that claims to look out for their best interest.  THAT is the only way to know how important this bill was.
