• WWII Veteran celebrates his 101st birthday (abccolumbia.com) — In Lexington, neighbors and staff at Cola Wealth Advisors helped World War II veteran Bruce Cook celebrate his 101st birthday with cake, balloons, and heartfelt cards. The Swansea native, honored by France this spring for 35 missions over France, reflected gratefully on a long life, his faith, and the friendships he's built in the community.
   

• Prysmian breaks ground on $80 million expansion project (wistv.com) — Lexington is getting a major economic boost as Prysmian breaks ground on an $80 million expansion of its local facility, expected to create 130 new jobs. The project will increase production of flex-ribbon fiber-optic cable to meet rising U.S. connectivity demand, with company leaders emphasizing their commitment to workers and the Lexington community.
   

• Newly classified boundaries go into effect in November (thecolumbiastar.com) — Residents near the Lexington–Richland county line should be aware that newly clarified county boundaries will take effect November 16, potentially changing their county, school district, or voting precinct. Richland County officials say affected households have been notified and given 60 days to appeal, and a similar clarification process will address remaining Lexington–Richland boundary issues soon.
