📰 News we're reading

• Judge blocks Lexington in ruling awarding water customers to West Columbia (thestate.com) — Lexington must pay West Columbia $5.7 million and give up hundreds of disputed water customers after a judge ruled the town violated a long-standing service agreement. The decision ends years of litigation, bars Lexington from expanding water service in the affected area south of Lake Murray, and gives the town 120 days to transfer customers to West Columbia.

• Office park, golf simulator clear 1st hurdle (lexingtonchronicle.com) — Lexington Town Council has advanced plans to rezone 7.48 acres on Corley Mill Road for an office park that would include a private golf simulator and coffee service, with a final vote expected Oct. 5. Council also approved transferring Ripple Fiber's local broadband network to Frontier and adopted a Cross Connection Control Program to better protect the town's drinking water system.
