• Lexington County names new fire station after fallen firefighter (wistv.com) — A new Lexington County Fire Station 34 on North Lake Drive in Lexington now honors fallen firefighter Jeffrey V. Chavis, who died after a 2001 house fire. The modern station, matching his former truck number, adds capacity for two fire engines and an ambulance, and another Lexington County station dedication is planned later this month.
   

• Lexington County man caught mailing thousands of fentanyl pills gets 10 years in prison (meigsindypress.com) — A Lexington man, Gregory Hill, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after investigators tied him to distributing large quantities of fentanyl and cocaine from his Lexington home and storage unit. DEA agents and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department intercepted drug parcels, seized thousands of fentanyl tablets and cash, and documented a broader trafficking network.
