• Mary Jean Winkler (wgog.com subscription) — West Union residents are mourning the passing of 77-year-old Mary Jean Winkler, a devoted grandmother and longtime member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for Thursday, September 3, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation an hour prior and burial at Heritage Memorial Gardens. Her family suggests flowers or memorials to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation.
