(lagrangenews.com) — Hogansville’s long-discussed new elementary school is moving forward, with the Troup County School Board approving architect fees funded through the next ESPLOST, at a discounted 5.5% rate. A new West Point elementary and a Greenpower Racing track are also included, though exact project locations around the county are still being finalized.
   

• Hogansville's Diaz recognized by GMA (lagrangenews.com) — Hogansville is honoring longtime gas supervisor Ryan Diaz for his leadership while also making several decisions that affect residents’ daily services and bills. City council extended its data center moratorium, scheduled an Aug. 3 public hearing, approved a new Amwaste sanitation and recycling contract with a $3 monthly increase, and moved to update the Downtown Development Authority membership.
   

• Louisiana Man Arrested in I-85 Road Rage Shooting (hhjonline.com) — Drivers who regularly use I-85 near Hogansville should know a Louisiana man has been arrested after two road rage shootings along the interstate, including one near Exit 28 that injured another motorist. Grantville and Hogansville police, along with Troup County deputies, tracked the suspect’s vehicle to Hogansville city limits, where officers safely made the arrest and linked him to both incidents.
