CARTA, EPB, and UTC will build smart traffic infrastructure and a training program so local residents can learn to operate and manage the new autonomous transit technology.

4. City's Largest Universally Inclusive Playground Grand Opening Is Sept. 12 (chattanoogan.com) — Chattanooga families are invited to Saturday's 10 a.m. grand opening of the new Harvesting Inclusive Playground at Jack Benson Heritage Park on Jenkins Road in East Brainerd. The $2 million, farm-themed play space spans nearly 15,000 square feet, exceeds ADA standards, and is designed so children and parents of all abilities can play together. City officials, community partners, and the Kiwanis Club of Chattanooga will attend.
   

5. Average Chattanooga gas prices rise 17 cents (wdef.com) — Drivers in Chattanooga are paying sharply more at the pump, with average gas prices up nearly 18 cents in a week to $3.76 per gallon and local stations ranging from $3.49 to $4.39. The report also notes national records for Labor Day gas and diesel prices, driven partly by global refining disruptions.
