Chattanooga opens Moccasin Bend Connector greenway (timesfreepress.com) — Chattanooga residents can now bike or walk safely between the North Shore and Moccasin Bend using the new 1.5‑mile Moccasin Bend Connector greenway along Manufacturers and Hamm roads. The $4.2 million project links city streets with National Park Service trails and will eventually connect to a new visitor gateway with parking, restrooms, and river access planned to break ground in 2027.
   

2. Longtime downtown daycare center to be consolidated by UTC (timesfreepress.com) — Families using Little Miss Mag in downtown Chattanooga should prepare for the center to close as UTC consolidates it into its Brown and Battle Academy early learning sites, while promising no enrolled child will lose a spot. The move ends a century‑old childcare institution but is intended to expand capacity and centralize high‑quality early education under the university's programs.
   

3. UPDATE: No one hurt after box truck catches fire on I-24 eastbound, Chattanooga FD says (local3news.com) — A box truck fire on I-24 eastbound near the Tennessee River bend in Chattanooga briefly shut down multiple lanes Sunday evening, but no one was hurt and traffic has fully reopened. Chattanooga Fire Department officials say the engine caught fire around mile marker 177, and the driver safely pulled to the shoulder while crews quickly extinguished the blaze.
   

4. City Center Council on October 13, 2026 (businessdailynetwork.com) — Local professionals will have a chance to network and hear industry insights at a City Center Council event hosted at The Signal on Choo Choo Avenue in Chattanooga on October 13–14.
