• Bills requiring Tennessee sheriffs to cooperate with ICE advance • Tennessee Lookout (tennesseelookout.com) — Englewood residents are represented in Nashville by Rep. Mark Cochran, who is co-sponsoring a bill requiring certain Tennessee sheriffs to hold inmates sought by federal immigration agents for 48 extra hours. The measure, part of a broader GOP immigration agenda, has passed the state Senate and could shift millions in detention costs onto county governments if paired with a second bill expanding federal enforcement agreements.
