Your Library is hosting a talk about Mexican art with award-winning author Raquel Vasquez Gilliland on Saturday, February 19 at 1 p.m.
Gilliland will talk about the use of color and flowers in Mexican art. Attendees can also create their own seedling greenhouse to take home after the presentation. All ages are welcome.

Raquel Vasquez Gilliland is a Mexican American novelist, painter and plantswoman who lives in East Tennessee. Her most recent novel, “How Moon Fuentez Fell in Love with the Universe,” won the 2022 Pura Belpré Young Adult Author Award.
The Pura Belpré Award honors Latinx authors and illustrators whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latinx cultural experience in kids and young adult books.
