1. ETSU unveils new outdoor fitness court as part of national wellness initiative (wjhl.com) — A new outdoor fitness court is now open near ETSU's William B. Greene Jr. Stadium in Johnson City, giving residents a free, accessible place to work out. The court offers seven bodyweight exercise stations, app-guided workouts, and is designed for ages 14 and up with options for different fitness levels.
   

2. Tennessee upcoming events Sep 14 (lemonwire.com) — Johnson City fans have a home game to circle: ETSU hosts West Georgia at William B. Greene Jr. Stadium on Saturday, September 19. A statewide roundup also highlights concerts, theater, and sports in cities like Knoxville, Bristol, and Memphis, giving you plenty of options if you're up for a short road trip.
   

3. Judge dismisses Ballad Health's Medicare Advantage lawsuit against UnitedHealth - Becker's Payer Issues (beckerspayer.com) — Johnson City–based Ballad Health has been ordered to take its Medicare Advantage payment dispute with UnitedHealth to arbitration, after a federal judge dismissed its lawsuit. Ballad, which serves hospitals and clinics across the region, says it will continue pursuing more than $65 million in claims and alleges UnitedHealth's practices have harmed patients, providers, and rural communities.
   

4. Lone Helene victim found weeks before two-year anniversary (johnsoncitypress.com) — Local emergency officials from Washington County and Johnson City report that the remains of Nancy Tucker, the last person missing from Hurricane Helene, were found in debris on Jackson Island. Cleanup work on the island paused for the recovery but overall debris removal in Cherokee National Forest remains on schedule under a federal contract.
   

5. Statewide operation addresses illicit massage businesses in state (themountainpress.com) — A recent statewide undercover operation targeting illicit massage businesses drew in the Johnson City Police Department alongside multiple Tennessee agencies. Ten women were arrested on charges ranging from prostitution to licensing violations, while investigators also worked to identify possible trafficking victims and connect them with support services. Officials are directing residents to state resources for spotting and reporting human trafficking.
