• Memphis power nearly restored as fewer than 2K remain in the dark (wreg.com) — Power is nearly fully restored across Memphis, with MLGW reporting fewer than 2,000 customers still without electricity after days of storm-related outages. Crews are working through difficult backyard service lines in hard-hit neighborhoods like Colonial Acres, and officials say all customers able to receive power should be back on by day's end.

• The National Guard to remain in Memphis as part of Trump's task force (commercialappeal.com) — National Guard troops assigned to President Trump's Memphis Safe Task Force are staying in the city for now, despite a media report suggesting they were leaving. State officials say the Guard continues supporting local and federal law enforcement, mainly with patrols and scene security around Memphis. Confusion remains over how long they'll stay and what their exact role is going forward.

• Supporters of Tyrin Johnson's family want charges after autopsy rules death a homicide (actionnews5.com) — Community advocates in Memphis are calling for charges against National Guard members after an autopsy ruled 20-year-old Tyrin Johnson's death a homicide. The report found Johnson was shot in the back downtown, contradicting earlier statements that he turned toward soldiers with a weapon. His family's representative says bystander video shows him running unarmed, while the TBI continues its investigation.
