Carjacker Shoots Pursuing Man, Sets Corvette Afire: Nashville Police
Metro Police are searching for man who allegedly stole a car, shot its owner and then set it on fire.

NASHVILLE, TN — A manhunt is underway as police search for a man accused of stealing a car, shooting its owner and then setting it on fire before fleeing the scene.
The victim left his mid-80s Corvette running as he ran into a store on D.B. Todd Boulevard. When he was in the store, someone got into the sports car and drove away. The victim then convinced a bystander to let him borrow a car and he set to pursuing the thief. The victim tracked the suspect to Interstate 65 and Rosa Parks Boulevard where he saw his Corvette stopped at a red light. When the man approached his car, the alleged thief shot him in the femoral artery. He remains hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Meanwhile, a witness followed the Corvette on Rosa Parks until it turned on to Jefferson Street, from whence the witness called police. Nashville Fire crews found the Corvette fully engulfed on 14th Avenue North and Jennings Street.
